hello,
I am a licensed psychologist in private practice. I received my Psy.D from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. Throughout my training I gained clinical experience in a variety of settings including a queer-specialized mental health clinic, community mental health centers, a substance use/recovery clinic, college counseling sites and private practice.
My work is relational , attachment based, and depth-oriented, which means the therapy relationship itself is an important part of the work. We pay attention not only to what you share about your life, but also to what unfolds between us — as this often reflects patterns that exist in your other relationships as well. We explore how your individual cultural identity shapes your experience, as well as the influence of societal expectations.
I work primarily with queer, trans, and gender nonconforming individuals. For many people, gender exploration unfolds alongside early relational experiences, family dynamics, internalized messages, and questions about being seen, known, or accepted. Therapy can be a place where those layers are approached with care and patience.
My style is warm, engaged, and nonjudgmental. I am curious about your inner world and attentive to what may feel difficult to say out loud. I try to create a space where you do not have to perform, minimize yourself, or already have things figured out.
I offer psychotherapy throughout California. Sessions are held online and in-person in my Oakland office.
